The Northern Cape played a decisive role in the 1899-1902 war and many battlefields, relics and monuments are in close proximity. Magersfontein was the scene of one of the most epic Boer victories. The Magersfontein monument is opposite our gate and the well-appointed museum is just down the road.

The Big Hole Visitor Centre
This world renowned hole is claimed to be the largest hand excavated hole in the world, dug in search of diamonds.

This grand old suburb has 33 of the city’s historic sites, some depicting grand Victorian architecture.

Travel arrangements

Your travel agent should book you to Johannesburg (Oliver Tambo International) from there you need to take a domestic flight to Kimberley (1 hour, 20 min). Here you will be met by a Magersfontein Safaris representative and transported to our base camp – a 30 minute drive. If preferred we will can do bookings for you.
